SHORT DESCRIPTION
DayBee is a free, open-source voice recorder for macOS and Windows. It stays in the tray, keeps speech segments and transcribes recordings locally with on-device ASR.

LONG DESCRIPTION
DayBee keeps recording controls, a live waveform and recent transcripts in a compact tray window. Voice activity detection saves speech segments as lossless FLAC recordings, while the timeline groups transcripts by date and keeps timestamps and voice labels alongside the text.

Speech recognition runs on the device using local models, including Whisper and supported alternative engines. Compatible Macs can use Apple SpeechAnalyzer. A read-only MCP server lets compatible AI clients search and read saved transcripts. Recording, audio input and model preferences remain available in the same compact window.
